Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie

  • 1 pie crust
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 4 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 eggs 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp bourbon
  1. Combine maple syrup, brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter in saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium heat until everything incorporates.
  3. Increase heat and boil for 1 minute.
  4. Cool to lukewarm about 45 minutes.
  5. Whisk eggs and vanilla in separate bowl with a pinch of salt.
  6. Slowly whisk maple syrup mixture into egg mixture.
  7. Stir in the pecans, bacon, and bourbon.
  8. Pour the filling into the crust.
  9. Pre-heat REC TEC grill at 350°F and bake the pie on grill for about 55-60 minutes.
  10. The filling should be set in the middle and puffed around edges.
  11. Let cool and serve with a dollop of whipped cream.

    I can't believe this has gone without a review. I made this last year for a party. I should have made three or four pies. This is soooo good. Making more next week. Thank-you Rand for a great recipe
