A must for below 32 temperatures - quicker heat-up and must save pellets though difficult to calculate 'payback'.

I live in Minnesota and everybody knows it gets cold up here in the frozen north. This cover works great!!! Smoked a turkey on thanksgiving and it kept the temp steady the whole time! buy it!!!!!!

The Cover doesn't seem to be compatible with the competition cart so I am yet to install it. It is well made and I would say that if not using the cart.. extremely effective.

I see people posting that this cover won’t fit when using a competition cart. Cripes people, are you really so inept you can’t figure this one out!?

IT FITS!! Just wrap the straps around the main chamber barrel underneath and around the outside of the cart. If you have the front tray, lift it just high enough to put the straps behind it and loop it through the double rings. Imagine that, it fits! It’s almost like someone designed it just for this project. Thanks RecTec. Once again, you guys make great products!

I have the RT 700 with cold smoker box and competition cart. The cold weather cover fit with no problems. I observed it stabilized the actual temperature with setpoint immediately. Temp spreads between setpoint and actual temperatures fluctuated only about 2 degrees when cooking at 275 to 350 degrees. Outside air temperature was 43 to 45 degrees with slight wind and rain. Most times the setpoint temp and actual temperature were identical. This was normal during warm weather of 75 to 80 degrees, however; once the outside temperatures fell to 45 and lower, I saw temperature spreads up to 11 degrees and higher as the pellet feed rate fluctuated trying to maintain setpoint. The cold weather cover really came through. As an added benefit, it appears the temps on the cold smoker are a little higher, which for me is a plus.

Pellet consumption was reduced using the cover. I expect the consumption rate to show more dramatic reduction as outside air temperatures fall lower in coming winter months. Very pleased with the cold weather cover. I do wish it could withstand hotter setpoint temps as I like to cook pizzas on a stone at 450 degrees. But for most cooks, it appears it’s going to work great. I like it. You probably will too.

Smoked a brisket then a bunch of ribs - about 18 hours in the lower 40’s and it used about 20 lbs of pellets. Well worth the money.

Great investment! It will pay for itself after one season...
