Grill season is upon us...
When it comes to grilling, there’s a few things you need to look for before you upgrade your gas, charcoal, or pellet grill. The presence of a PID controller, WiFi compatibility, durability of the grill, and customer service are four things that will determine how this grilling season will go for you.
Some people ask me “Chef John, I love to cook, and I want really take my cooking game up a level. Should I go to culinary school?”
Before you start taking out loans to go to school, take that money and buy a REC TEC. Stay at home and master your craft! Our grills will help you elevate your game, partly due to our amazing PID controller. Being able to put food on the grill and know that it is going to hold the temp. you set it at will help you focus on so many other things. The PID controller is the gold standard of all controllers on the market today, not just for pellet grills, but for leading pharmaceutical companies and breweries as well. Anyone trying to maintain a precise temperature for a specific time should be using a PID controller.
Imagine you’ve got 4 pork butts on your brand-new RT-700 BULL...
You’re about an hour into your cook, and one of your kids falls from a tree, or your girlfriend cuts her finger trying to make a salad (because you don’t eat enough veggies with your pork). What are you going to do? Well, if you have a grill that doesn’t have WiFi capability, you're about to leave someone that you’re not totally sure can handle the cook overseeing your meal, or in the worst case, you're going to lose all that pork! For me, our Wi-Pellet WiFi Connectivity is one of the coolest features on our grills. Being able to start your grill, set and adjust the temperature, and keep up with how your cook is doing just takes the cake. As a chef, it has totally changed my world! This kind of tech is like something from the future. REC TEC Grills has you coved, so no need to worry about not being around to monitor your cook from start to finish. Having this WiFi capability is like having the grill in your pocket. You can now keep up with your cook no matter where you are or what you’re doing, all through REC TEC .

Before we talk about how REC TEC Grills are built like a tank, let’s take a minute to talk about your old grill.
I’m not picking on anyone's grills, but rust and corrosion are the number one killer of outdoor appliances. With gas grills, the internal components can rust out after just one season of grilling. In charcoal grills, the bottom of the barrel always burns out after a couple seasons of grilling, and even some pellet grills are made with thin metals to lower cost. I know this stuff to be true because I used to own all of these types of grills before getting a REC TEC. From cooking chambers made of stainless steel, to a ceramic ignitor rod rated for 100,000 cycles, we give you far more bang for your buck! Our fire pot is also made of 304 stainless steel, and is darn near indestructible; we have literally parked a dump truck right on top of one with absolutely zero damage! I mean, what else is there to say? It truly is built like a tank!
REC TEC Grills has the best customer service in the pellet grill industry.
I’ll go so far as to say that REC TEC Grills has the best customer service in the world! I would put our customer service against anyone on the planet. I’m a realist, and we all know life happens... But know that REC TEC Grills is here with a real person in Augusta, Georgia whose sole purpose is to help you get your problems solved. It's simply amazing, and totally lost in today's automated world. In fact, everyone here at REC TEC Grills is in customer service. We all answer calls and help customers in the showroom, from our GM Ben Lesshafft, to our newest employee, Amanda Collins! We are all here to help you.
What Have We Learned?
I hope I’ve given y'all some stuff to think about before upgrading to a new grill.
I know that REC TEC Grills are the best grills on the market. There are many imitators, but there’s only one REC TEC... I’m REC TEC Chef John, saying quality of food equals quality of life! Happy grilling, and we’ll see you at the REC TEC.
