For many people, summertime is a time to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
The kids are out of school (including my wife, a school teacher), the weather is nice, and the daily schedule is full of activities. Add to that vacations, trips to the lake, or enjoying a ball game. Who has time to plan meals, much less cook them? Sure, we could swing by a drive-thru and grab some mediocre burgers, but who wants unhealthy fast food? When you own a REC TEC, you can create delicious weeknight meals that will please even the most selective palate. With 10 years of REC TEC family under our belts, here are some of my family's favorite dinners that are all too easy on our Bull RT-700.
Quesadillas on a REC TEC are just... Awesome!
I set the grill for 375ºF and season up some boneless chicken breast with the Durty Gurl Bloody Mary Rub to give it a little heat. Once the chicken is done, I raise the temperature to 500ºF. We load our tortillas down with our favorite ingredients and put them on the flat side of the sear kit until the cheese is nice and gooey and the tortilla has some crunch. We're ready to eat! It's definitely a favorite around the Brown household, and I recommend you give it a try.
Burgers and Hotdogs
Everyone loves burgers and dogs during the summer!
However, you simply cannot beat burgers off a REC TEC. I literally laugh when people say you can't sear on a pellet grill... I season the patties with some Ben's Heffer Dust and throw them on the sear kit with the grill set at 500ºF. The other half of the Bull is loaded up with some hotdogs. Once the burgers have cooked for about 4-5 minutes per side, I'm left with a crust on the patties and that robust flavor I love. It couldn't be any easier.
Salmon and Asparagus
If you want to be a little healthier, fish and veggies are a great option.
I typically cook this meal at a smooth 350ºF. You can't go wrong with Jody's Asian Persuasion on fresh salmon. We like to coat our asparagus with a little olive oil and freshly grated parmesan. My wife really loves to finish off the asparagus on the flat side of the sear kit for the final three minutes or so. This gives it a little crunch that takes the flavor to another level. Even the kids love it!
Yes, I said grilled cheese.
My daughter goes nuts for my grilled cheese sandwiches! I know you’re probably thinking, "Anyone can make a grilled cheese sandwich." That is absolutely correct! However, when you're cooking on a REC TEC with real hardwood pellets, you get an enhanced flavor that you simply can't get from your stovetop. I cook on the sear kit at 500ºF, a standard temperature when using this product, in my opinion.

There are so many options for quick and easy meals on a REC TEC.
In addition to the dishes I mentioned above, I encourage you to try some new things you usually wouldn't imagine cooking on your grill. Frozen pizzas, mac and cheese, and even store-bought lasagna taste better cooked on a REC TEC. So, this summer, don't waste money in restaurants and eat subpar food from a drive-thru. Cook some of your family’s favorites on the REC TEC. There's no better way to celebrate our decade of REC TEC family!
