  • 5lbs. apples, sliced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest



  • 8oz butter
  • 12oz granola 
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 
  1. Pre-heat REC TEC Grills to 350‚Ñâ.
  2. Combine apples with cinnamon, cornstarch, maple syrup, orange juice, and zest in a large bowl.
  3. For the topping, mix the softened butter, granola, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon, then mix well.
  4. Lightly oil a 12" cast-iron skillet and add all of the apple mixture.
  5. Add the topping in an even layer across the pan.
  6. Cook for 45-60 minutes until the topping is lightly browned and the apples are soft.
  7. Let rest for 25-30 minutes.

    That’s what I said after trying this desert!! My better half is a professional baker, that said, I took this as an opportunity to see if this recipe would be “approved” by my in house baker...... Well I got an A+++. I wouldn’t change a thing, other than throwing under the broiler for 5 minutes for the topping to get a perfect golden brown. EXCELLENT with ice cream or whipped cream.
