Apple Betty

Ingredients:

  • 5lbs. apples, sliced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest

Topping:

  • 8oz butter
  • 12oz granola 
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 

Instructions:

  • Pre-heat REC TEC Grills to 350℉.
  • Combine apples with cinnamon, cornstarch, maple syrup, orange juice, and zest in a large bowl.
  • For the topping, mix the softened butter, granola, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon, then mix well.
  • Lightly oil a 12" cast-iron skillet and add all of the apple mixture.
  • Add the topping in an even layer across the pan.
  • Cook for 45-60 minutes until the topping is lightly browned and the apples are soft.
  • Let rest for 25-30 minutes.
