-10F? Lets Smoke!

I know, that's ridiculous, but when you get the grill in December, you have to try it out, regardless of the obnoxiously low temps outside, right?

I don't have a good feel on pellet consumption yet, but I was happy with the amount used, especially when the temperatures were between -10 to -15F. And it stayed true to temp, cooking our brisket to perfection!

Thrilled with this sucker (it just sucked to have to go outside to put the meat on and take it off).

A must have when using in cold weather

Brian -

My first use of the smoker was a recent day with a low in the 40s and high of 55. Slightly windy. When using the extreme smoke option, the fan modulates on and off, and does not maintain heat to the set temp. However, with the cold weather cover, it maintains just fine.

However, it shipped with one of the D rings missing, so I had to tie it to itself to snug up to the grill.

A must if you live in a cold climate

First cook I did without the cover was at about 55degrees outside air temp. It took way longer than expected and was a little worried. Put the cover on and have done 3 cooks since AMAZING difference. I live in Minnesota did a turkey with an outdoor temp of 32 the grill worked perfectly.

Amazing smoker!!!! Not one issue..Had a traeger in the past and the rec tec blows it away..Holds lots of meat and no fluctuations in temp..Would recommend this smoker to anyone...

Looks and fits great! Still waiting for the cold weather in Minnesota to kick in so I can enjoy the lower pellet consumption I am hearing about! Great Addition for the Grill envy, along with the Cold Smoker Box! Love it!

I really like the fit, the looks and how well it keeps in the heat here in tropical Minnesota. Haven't been below 0 with it yet, but it won't be long!

BEST MONEY I SPENT EVER!!!

Patrick Sans -

I was looking to get a end all smoker. I owned a few cheap ones that gave mixed results. After doing some research, I found REC TEC GRILLS. I watch a few video reviews on You Tube. After i saw the cooks that people got I was convinced i found my new Smoker/Grill. Plus the REC TEC looks like i means business. With the attention to details like chrome bull horn handles.I have to say that i made some people jealous when they saw it. delivery was fast, and easy. Once i got it was fairly easy to put together. I did it in a hour by myself. The first cook I did to break it in was two 9lb pork butts. I live in the mountains where it get cold at night, down to 10's and 20's. I was a little worried about the cook time and pellet consumption with the cold night. But,it was the best was to test the REC TEC out. I put the butts on around 1:30 am and it was around 30 degrees outside. The REC TEC did not have any problem holding it temp. plus it didn't use a lot of pellets. 16-17 hours at 225 my butts looks and tasted the best i ever had. REC TEC was put to the test and passed with flying colors. looking forward to many great cooks. Like I said Best Money I ever spent. way to go REC TEC. Awesome grill you made.
